I bow to the lotus feet of Supreme Guru who teaches the good knowledge,

conferring the insights to embodying the true Self, a pure mind and heart.

Leading me to Self-awakening is the Jungle doctor,

who is remover of delusion and all other poisons of the mind.

I prostrate to Patañjali, an incarnation of Ādisheṣa,

who supports the world on his thousand white heads,

holding a conch shell, a discus, and the sword of discrimination
